bear parade reading 4/13/07 at stainbar in nyc

no one cares about post-ilism, or fitting genre or the state of literature on bear parade, even though we all probably know about these things in some respect. everybody involved with bear parade lives and dies and puts together nice things that, just like those things that none of us care about, don’t matter. bear parade doesn’t matter, because all literature and design doesn’t matter, it just makes people feel more serious about not mattering, which is for me, like video games and my dog, an easy and falsely fulfilling way to forget that i don’t actually matter.
the great thing about the amount of realistic indifference i carry, is that when i become angry or confused, it, like my attitude towards bear parade, video games and my dog, helps me understand that anger and confusion are just nice distractions from my not mattering.
like all of these things, this reading will not matter, and it will be probably be fun, because everyone involved will not care what happens. everyone involved will just want to be comfortable and forget how little we matter, and have fun with the writing and things we made that do not matter that we created to help us forget we don’t matter.
i don’t really know where i’m going with this in terms of the bear parade reading, but if nothing matters but distraction, then the purest of ideas and the most complex of thoughts and the most consuming aspects of repetitive and mindless actions are equal in value, and in importance, because they all create an infinite amount of distractions from the process of not mattering.
